Altaway/VM's are
dynamically deployed on a supercomputer-class
facility combining up to 256 computing
nodes and potentially thousands of
microprocessors able to operate concurrently.
This cluster is managed as a single
pool of hardware resources and responds
to changing business demands in real-time
while maximizing server resource utilization.
Altaway centrally
manages and control all virtual machines
and maximizes utilization of all physical
servers. Altaway also monitors virtual
machine performance and availability
across all physical servers in the
environment, modifies resource allocations
and migrates virtual machines across
hosts based on utilization profiles.
The
cluster is currently composed of computing
nodes (HP ProLiant and IBM xSeries servers) and storage nodes (Ultra 320 RAID systems
and FAStT storage servers):
Altaway is continuing
to expand the cluster with more computing
and storage nodes as well as with
network protection and intrusion detection
systems.
